The short version. If an artist page on faxa uses your music or artwork without permission, send the form below. The content goes offline as soon as a valid notice arrives, the artist is told, and we review it. Lying in a notice has consequences.

How a notice works

You send a notice with the form below, identifying the content on faxa and the work it infringes.
The content goes offline immediately. When a complete notice arrives, the release, track or preview stops being available to the public. The artist can still see it in their dashboard.
The artist is notified in the app, with the details of the notice (including your name, email, the rights holder and the work you described), so they can respond.
faxa reviews it. If the notice is upheld, the content stays offline and counts against the artist page. If it's rejected, the content comes back online.

Repeat infringers. When three notices against the same artist page are upheld, the page is suspended. See our Terms and Community Guidelines.

Counter-notice

If you're the artist and you believe your content was removed by mistake or that you have the right to use it, email copyright@faxa.app with: the notice reference, the content affected, why you believe the removal was a mistake (for example, you own the rights or have a licence), your full name and contact details, and a statement that the information is accurate. We'll share it with the claimant and decide on the review. The claimant may then take the matter to court.

False claims

Only the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them can send a notice. Notices that are knowingly false or abusive can lead to the account or access of the sender being restricted, and the sender can be liable for damages under the law that applies (in Brazil, among others, Lei 9.610/1998 and the Civil Code; in the US, 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)). If you're not sure the use is infringing, get advice first.
