The short version. Post music you have the rights to. Say what you think about the music, not about who people are. Don't fake numbers. Report what breaks these rules and let us handle it.
Share what's yours
- Upload only recordings, artwork and photos you own or control the rights to. Uploading someone else's music, even as a fan, isn't allowed.
- Claim only the artist page you actually represent. Pretending to be an artist, a label or another person isn't allowed.
- Credit collaborators honestly. If a bandmate or label has a say, get their OK before uploading.
Review the music, respect the people
- Harsh reviews are fine. Attacks on someone for who they are — race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar — are not.
- No harassment, threats, pile-ons, or encouraging others to target someone, on faxa or off it.
- No glorifying violence, terrorism or violent extremism.
- Don't encourage self-harm or suicide. If someone seems at risk, report it and contact local emergency services.
Keep it safe
- Nothing that sexualises minors, ever. We remove it and report it to the authorities.
- No sexually explicit content. Album art that is clearly artistic is judged in context.
- Don't post anyone's private information — address, phone number, documents, private messages — without their permission.
- No sale of illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or anything illegal where you or the people involved are.
Keep it real
- No fake accounts, bought followers, fake listens, fake RSVPs or coordinated voting to rig setlist polls, charts or ratings.
- No spam, scams, phishing links or repetitive promotion. Telling your fans about your new release is fine; flooding other communities with it is not.
- Log what you actually heard. A diary is more useful when it's true.
Communities and events
- Stay roughly on topic in an artist's community and in event discussions.
- Organisers: describe events accurately, keep lineups honest, and only list confirmed participants. A setlist poll is a suggestion from fans, not a promise.
- Meetups are organised by the people who post them. Meet in public places and look out for each other.
Reporting
Use Report on any post, comment, profile, release or event in the app. Reports are private; the person you reported isn't told who sent it. For copyright, use the copyright form instead so the content can go offline right away. You can also block anyone from their profile.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it happened before, we may:
- remove the content or turn off a preview;
- limit features, such as posting or uploading, for a while;
- suspend an artist page — three upheld copyright notices always do;
- suspend or close the account, and stop the person from making a new one;
- report to the authorities when the law requires it or someone is in danger.
If you think we got it wrong, write to support@faxa.app and we'll take another look. These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.
